Rough Cut and Feedback
Feedback
After our rough cut, we asked members of our class to provide their feedback to the video. This was ideal because many of our class fit our target audience for alternative rock and they also have similar experience to us, therefore have good understanding on the conventions of music videos, what we're able to achieve and can share their insight from what they achieved during the making of their rough cut.
We requested our feedback group to provide thoughts on what they believed should be excluded from the video and what they liked from the video so we could replicate it into the final cut.
The video below displays some of the quotes that our feedback wrote for us.
In response to the feedback we received, we intend to replace the drummer with someone who has the ability to play the drums to a higher standard to make the performance look more realistic. Additionally, we intend to change location to a darker studio in order to reflect the genre upon the video rather than use the school hall which had poor lighting and an inappropriate background. Lastly, in terms of our camera work we need to include more close ups to show that the artists can play their instruments to a high standard. Also, for camera movement we need faster movement to provide more energy into the video, particularly during periods with fast pace.
