Digipak Original and Edited Photos

For the front cover of our digipak we took this shot as it maintains the Imagine Dragons style suggested by an anomalous person as the subject of the photo. The alternative rock genre is emphasized upon the image through the woodland setting as well as the style of clothing. Firstly, the woodland is an isolated location that can be viewed as dark and mysterious further relating to the rock genre. Mystery is further emphasised through the clothing, as the hood of the jacket covers the identity of the person alongside the dark clothing. Furthermore, this image has been cropped in order to create the correct size regulations for a digipak but more importantly to eliminate the unnecessary surrounding in order to focus upon the person within the image. Lastly, the image has been edited by reducing the contrast and brightness created by the evening sunlight to build the dark identity relating to the genre.
This image was selected for the inside cover to follow the conventions of digipaks by including an image of all band members. The image was edited heavily in order to create a darker image to reflect the genre. The darkness was created by lowering the brightness and enhancing the contrast which released any viewing of the curtains behind, creating a plain background suitable for the genre. Additionally this technique removes the clothing from the image to emphasise the artists faces. Colour was further removed from the image through the The Polaroid effect. Similarly to the front cover image, the size was reduced in order to maintain digipak regulation size as well as to remove any unnecessary aspects of the photo such as the sides of the curtains allowing the audience to focus on the artists.
