In the initial music video, 'The Pretender' by Foo Fighters there was a fast pace throughout this song, matched by the music video through the use of short transitions, sharp camera turns (whipping shots) and the consistent movement throughout from the band members.
A section in the next song 'Pumped Up Kicks' by Foster the People was engaging as at the start of the video, the music and the video were in sync from when the person landed in the water alongside the first beat of the song.
Another video I received inspiration from was by Arctic Monkeys, 'Do I Wanna Know' which had a lack of visuals, however the uniqueness of the song is demonstrated through the movement and bend of the line alongside the change in notes and beats. the colour change allowed their to be more of a range of visuals for the audience.
Furthermore, in 'Somebody that I Used To Know' by Gotye I drew inspiration from how the video depicts the lyrics of the song displayed by the background colours. In the video the artists are camouflaged by matching the shapes and colours of the background in order to match the lyrics in the song as the video suggests she doesn't stand out and is like everything else.
In 'Boulevard of Broken Dreams' by Green Day, the video focuses on the bands performance zooming onto the artist's instruments displaying their technical ability in playing the instrument.
Additionally, the next song by Vance Joy is different to the rest of the songs I drew inspiration from as this is a clear narrative. This clip shows the visuals of the song being matched alongside the video providing a narrative for the audience to follow.
The use of a split screen in 'Come Back Home' by Two door Cinemas Club allows three stories to be told in a short period of time creating a narrative video for the video to match the actions of the lyrics.
This video is narrative however blends in the band performance through a CCTV video of them performing allowing the storyline to continue yet still displays the diegetic sound and the skill involved in playing the instruments.
This video reflects the dark, gloomy style of the song into the video through darkening each shot as well as prolonging each transition to provide a slow pace. Additionally, the characters further display the fearfulness by covering there identities.
The camera in this video is handheld to show the chaos of the invasion. The handheld camera allows us to feel fear of the character as the shakiness of camera reflects the feeling of the artist.
